In a recent appearance on Big Boy TV, 50 Cent turned heads with a moment of humor as he unveiled what he dubbed “The Drake Opp List,” a comprehensive catalog of more than 60 names perceived as adversaries of the famed rapper, Drake.
About 33 minutes into their conversation, 50 Cent produced a printed page, proclaiming, “This is the opp page,” while elucidating the phenomenon of how top-performing artists like Drake accumulate rivals.
“He was consistently outperforming everyone else in the culture,” 50 Cent noted, “and then, these individuals begin to view themselves as opponents.”
The list, originally posted by a Drake fan account in October 2023, included high-profile names such as A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar, and Megan Thee Stallion, among others.
It also featured more speculative adversaries including media personalities and outlets like Charlamagne tha God, LeBron James, and even established awards shows like the Grammys.
50 Cent, the “Candy Shop” rapper, further reflected on Drake’s enduring success, referencing one of Drake’s hits by saying, “And then you say, ‘I want this thing forever, man?’” This isn’t the first time this year that 50 Cent has spoken publicly about Drake.
In a previous discussion with Billboard, he supported Drake following a rap feud, emphasizing that despite public opinion, Drake was far from defeated. “They said you lost, okay. Well, what did you lose?” he queried, pointing to Drake’s substantial earnings from his latest tour as evidence of his continued success.
This exchange highlights the resilience required in the competitive world of hip-hop, where rivalries often spur artists to higher levels of creativity and output. 50 Cent’s remarks not only entertained but underscored a significant dynamic within the music industry.
