Alicia Keys to Receive Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at Recording Academy Honors

Alicia Keys will soon receive the prestigious Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, joining the ranks of previous honorees Dr. Dre and Jay-Z.

This announcement was made ahead of the upcoming fourth annual Recording Academy Honors, hosted by the Black Music Collective, scheduled for January 30 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Since its inception in 2023, the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award has been recognizing artists whose contributions transcend music, highlighting their entrepreneurial efforts, philanthropic work, and global influence. Alicia Keys, a Grammy-laden artist known for her multifaceted career and impactful music, embodies the spirit of this award.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, praised Keys for her extensive contributions to music and society. “Alicia has made an indelible impact on the world through her timeless music and dedication to uplifting others,” he stated.

He emphasized her boundless artistry, advocacy for meaningful change, and profound cultural influence, celebrating her transformative role in music and beyond.

Throughout her illustrious career, Keys has amassed 16 Grammy Awards and is recognized as one of the world’s best-selling music artists with over 90 million records sold. Beyond her musical achievements, she is a notable businesswoman and philanthropist.

Her ventures include AK Worldwide, a recording studio, a production company, and a lifestyle brand in collaboration with e.l.f. Beauty. Additionally, she has been active in social causes, launching a $1 billion fund for Black-owned businesses and co-founding Keep a Child Alive, a nonprofit fighting HIV/AIDS.

Keys continues to make her mark in the entertainment industry, not only through her music but also through her Broadway musical, Hell’s Kitchen. The show, inspired by her own ascent to fame, has been met with critical acclaim, earning multiple Tony nominations and wins.
