Ashanti and Nelly Secretly Married and Expecting First Child

Ashanti and Nelly have taken their relationship to the next level by not only getting engaged but also secretly tying the knot and expecting their first child together. 

According to public records, the music stars were legally married on December 27, 2023, making them husband and wife for the past six months.

The marriage was made official in St. Louis County, indicating they likely got married in Nelly’s hometown. 

While they haven’t held a public ceremony yet, they’ve been hinting at their wedding plans recently.

“I think it surprised both of us,” the “Hot in Herre” rapper said on the Boss Moves with Rasheeda show. “But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more, where you could be like, ‘Well, yo, let me exactly see, maybe, what they see.’

‘Cause you know we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. And we know we’re wrong, but we’re going to stand on it.”

This is especially surprising since Ashanti recently announced her pregnancy, confirming that she and Nelly were expecting their first child amid rising speculation. 

Along with this news, she also revealed their engagement. Now, it’s confirmed that they have legally formalized their relationship.

This is a milestone for the couple, who rekindled their romance last year after initially dating in the 2000s when they were both major figures in the music scene.

In the years leading up to their reunion, Ashanti and Nelly had teased fans with occasional performances and flirty interactions at events. 

Their renewed relationship proved to be serious, culminating in their secret marriage and upcoming parenthood.
