Celebrity Stylist Law Roach Set to Release ‘How to Build a Fashion Icon’ Self-Help Book

Law Roach, known as the “image architect” in the fashion world, is set to share his expertise with a wider audience through his first self-help book titled “How to Build a Fashion Icon: Notes on Confidence from the World’s Only Image Architect,” releasing on October 1.

In the book, Law Roach shares his journey and the lessons he’s learned, aiming to inspire people beyond his celebrity clients.

In an interview with Time magazine, Law Roach explained his goal to reach people who might never need his styling for a red carpet event. “My career is very specialized, but this book allows me to connect with fans I might never meet,” he said. His book focuses on building confidence and recognizing one’s abilities and potential for success.

Roach also talks about his partnership with Zendaya and how they started in the fashion industry together, facing many rejections early on. These rejections forced them to be more creative.

“No one really knew her, and no one knew me, so no one wanted to loan us clothes. It forced me to be more creative and become a better stylist,” he shared. He views each rejection as a sign that it wasn’t the right fit, which ultimately guided them to better opportunities.

Beyond personal achievements, Law Roach is dedicated to making the fashion industry more inclusive. He believes in changing how people see celebrity stylists and advocates for more diversity. “We are just as talented as our white counterparts,” he said, stressing the importance of having diverse voices in fashion.

Alongside his book, Roach plans to launch a digital platform in November to make fashion more accessible to everyone. His efforts are not just about fashion but promoting self-love and expression in various fields. Roach emphasizes, “This isn’t just a fashion book. The fashion icon is you, and you can become your own icon, no matter what industry you’re in.”
