Chanel Nicole Scott is stepping into a powerful new role as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of In The Black Network (ITBN), a streaming platform on a mission to celebrate and center stories from across the Black diaspora.

The announcement was made by ITBN, which launched in 2023 with the goal of putting Black creators and narratives front and center. The network says Scott’s appointment is part of a broader push to expand its global reach and deepen its cultural impact.

Chanel Nicole Scott isn’t new to building things that matter. She’s spent more than 10 years creating content at the intersection of tech, media, and emotional wellness. Through her company, Chanel Scott Production House, she developed CheMinistry—a relationship-focused media platform that includes a TV show, books, and even a card game.

She’s also the voice behind Relationships Matter, a podcast that explores love, healing, and emotional growth through real, personal stories. The podcast debuted on ITBN and was later adapted into a book by the same name.

Now, she’s bringing all that energy to ITBN—only this time, she’s steering the ship.

“Being part of a groundbreaking company like In The Black Network is more than just a professional opportunity — it’s a cultural mission,” Scott said. “We’re shifting who controls the narrative and how our stories are told. It’s time to put the power back into our hands — and I’m honored to help lead that movement.”

ITBN founder and seasoned TV producer James DuBose said Scott is exactly the kind of leader the network needs right now—driven, visionary, and deeply connected to the community.

“Chanel’s work speaks for itself,” DuBose said. “She understands the culture. She lives it, she creates from it, and she elevates it. That’s the kind of leadership we need as we scale this network across the world.”

In a 2024 interview with BLACK ENTERPRISE, DuBose outlined his big-picture vision for ITBN: “We want to create one destination—whether you’re in the U.S., the Caribbean, Africa, or anywhere else—where people can see themselves, their stories, and their truth.”

Founded just two years ago, In The Black Network is already carving out space in the streaming world with a fresh approach. It’s a free AVOD platform (ad-supported video on demand), available through its website, app, and on Smart TVs. And it’s not just about entertainment—it’s about empowerment.

With Scott now leading marketing efforts, the platform is gearing up for a new era—one where global Black audiences can find stories that feel authentic, relevant, and beautifully human.
