Chelsea Inquires About Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Faces Potential Record-Breaking Fee Above £115m

Chelsea is actively pursuing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, with discussions already underway between the two clubs, according to Mail Sport.
Chelsea has signalled a strong interest in signing the Swedish international, anticipating that acquiring him would surpass the club-record £115 million they spent on Moises Caicedo.
Isak, who scored 25 goals last season, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after players. His market value has soared to at least double the £63 million Newcastle paid Real Sociedad in 2022.
Over his two seasons at St. James’ Park, Isak has scored 35 goals. Despite an injury-marred first season, he emerged as one of the Premier League’s top strikers last year.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is keen to retain top talents like Isak and Bruno Guimaraes. However, the club has openly acknowledged that every player could potentially be sold under the financial constraints of Profit and Sustainability Rules.
While there have been discussions about Isak potentially signing a new contract with Newcastle, sources indicate that no agreement has been reached yet.
Chelsea’s quest for offensive firepower doesn’t stop with Isak. They are nearing a £5 million deal for Barcelona’s 18-year-old forward Marc Guiu and are scouting other proven goal scorers for new coach Enzo Maresca.
The club has engaged in talks with Lille for Jonathan David, Aston Villa for Jhon Duran, and Hoffenheim for Maximilian Beier. Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton and Atletico Madrid’s Samuel Omorodion, whose £27 million bid was recently declined, are also on Chelsea’s radar.
Additionally, Chelsea is looking to bolster its wing options after missing out on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who has opted to join Bayern Munich.
