Cristiano Ronaldo Hints Al Nassr Could Be His Last Club Before Retiring

Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that Al Nassr might be the final club of his career before he retires. The 39-year-old Portuguese football star joined the Saudi Pro League team in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United.

There were rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo might return to Sporting Lisbon, where he started his career, but he told Portuguese TV channel Now, “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but I will probably retire here at Al Nassr. I’m happy at this club, and I feel good in this country. I want to continue playing in Saudi Arabia.”

Ronaldo, who has scored 898 career goals, including 130 for Portugal, also confirmed he wants to keep playing for the national team. “When I leave the national team, I won’t announce it ahead of time.

It will be a spontaneous but carefully thought-out decision,” Ronaldo said. “Right now, I want to help the team in their upcoming games. We have the Nations League ahead, and I would love to be part of it.”

Portugal will play Croatia on September 5 and Scotland three days later, followed by matches in Poland on October 12 and Scotland on October 15.

Ronaldo also mentioned that he has no plans to become a manager after retiring. He is set to receive a special award from UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin for his achievements in the Champions League.

With 140 goals in 183 appearances, Ronaldo is the top scorer in Champions League history, ahead of Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski. He has won the Champions League five times—once with Manchester United and four times with Real Madrid.
