Diddy Accused of Paying $1 Million to Have Tupac Killed, New Court Papers Show

U.S. rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been further implicated in new court documents that claim he paid $1 million to have Tupac Shakur killed in 1996. The documents, obtained by U.S. Sun, mention Mr. Combs over 75 times, suggesting his involvement.

The main suspect in Tupac’s murder case, Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, who was arrested last year, has said that Diddy funded the assassination of his rival on September 7, 1996. The court documents, filed on July 18, use various names for Combs, such as Puff Daddy, P Diddy, and Diddy, showing an already known feud between him and Tupac.

The rivalry between Diddy’s Bad Boy Records on the East Coast and Tupac’s Death Row Records, led by Marion ‘Suge’ Knight on the West Coast, was well known in the hip-hop world. According to Keefe, Diddy paid $1 million to gangster Eric Von Martin to carry out the murder.

Court records reveal that Diddy contacted Keefe after hearing about Tupac’s assassination, asking if their gang was responsible. “Sean Combs reaches out to Defendant wondering if South Side Crips were responsible for Shakur’s death by asking, ‘Is that us?’,” the documents state. Keefe, reportedly proud, answered “Yes.”

Keefe gave this information thinking he had immunity from prosecution, a mistake that could now lead to his conviction. The court filings say that the murder plan started in California, involving Keefe, Eric ‘Zip’ Martin, and Sean Combs.

Keefe admitted to Los Angeles police detectives that his nephew, Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson, was the shooter, describing how Anderson “leaned over, rolled down the window, and shot them.” Despite claiming he only meant to incriminate himself, Keefe’s statements also implicated Combs as the one who paid for the killing.

When asked by police if he meant Combs when he said “paid,” Keefe confirmed with a simple “Yeah,” according to court records. Expressing regret, Keefe said, “I wish I never met Puff Daddy, period. I swear to God…He messed up my life, man. I was, I was rich, up under the radar, all that, man…it’s all gone.”

These revelations add new details to the long-standing mystery of Tupac Shakur’s murder, casting doubt on one of hip-hop’s biggest stars.
