Diddy Fights Back, Accuses Federal Government of Leaking Evidence to Harm Reputation and Block Defense

Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 54-year-old music star, is facing serious legal troubles, but his family and legal team are fighting hard to defend him. Diddy has accused the federal government of leaking damaging information to hurt his reputation and make it harder for him to defend himself in court.
On Wednesday, October 9, Diddy’s lawyers claimed that the government released a video of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, from 2016 to CNN. This video came out in May and led Diddy to apologize publicly on Instagram, admitting he had made mistakes.
His legal team believes the video was found during a raid by the Department of Homeland Security on his homes in March. During the raid, Diddy’s sons, Justin and Christian, were reportedly handcuffed, which his lawyers described as “brutal and public.”
Diddy’s lawyers also claim the government gave false information to the media. They are asking for a hearing to look into these actions and want the court to stop the 2016 video from being used as evidence. They are even hoping to get the whole case thrown out.
Diddy’s legal troubles started with his rocky relationship with Cassie. In November 2023, she sued him for sexual assault, rape, and trafficking, but they quickly settled the case outside of court for an undisclosed amount. After that, several other women, as well as male producer Lil Rod, came forward with similar accusations.
At first, Diddy denied the allegations and said he would fight to clear his name. However, things got worse for him in September 2024 when he was arrested on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He has been denied bail twice since then.
Recently, 120 more people have accused Diddy of wrongdoing, and they are being represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, who also represented women in the sexual assault case against NFL player Deshaun Watson. Buzbee set up a hotline for Diddy’s alleged victims, and over 12,000 calls came in within 24 hours.
As the case continues, Diddy’s future remains uncertain, with both the legal system and the public watching closely.
