Despite facing serious legal troubles, Sean “Diddy” Combs is fighting back against accusations made in an NBC documentary. The 55-year-old music mogul has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the network, claiming that Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, which aired on Peacock last month, falsely accused him of murdering his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter.
The documentary, which explores Diddy’s rise to fame and the recent allegations against him, suggests he engaged in sexual misconduct with minors and was involved in Porter’s death. However, Combs and his legal team argue that these claims are baseless and defamatory.
Legal Battle Over Documentary Claims
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Combs’ lawsuit was filed in New York and references the Los Angeles County coroner’s report, which concluded that Porter died of natural causes. His legal team argues that NBC relied on “YouTube conspiracy theories” questioning why multiple people in Combs’ circle have passed away.
The lawsuit also disputes a claim in the documentary that Diddy was involved in a civil case accusing him of having sex with two underage women. His legal team states that both women later confirmed they were adults at the time, rendering the allegations false.
Combs’ attorneys say they reached out to NBC before the documentary aired, warning them about inaccuracies, but received no response.
“In making and broadcasting these falsehoods, among others, Defendants seek only to capitalize on the public’s appetite for scandal without any regard for the truth and at the expense of Mr. Combs’ right to a fair trial,” his attorney Erica Wolff stated.
“Mr. Combs brings this lawsuit to hold Defendants accountable for the extraordinary damage their reckless statements have caused.”
Diddy is currently facing serious criminal charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. His legal troubles began in November 2023 when his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, sued him for rape, trafficking, and assault.
The lawsuit was settled out of court, but since then, multiple other alleged victims have come forward with similar claims, leading to his eventual arrest.
As Combs battles both his criminal charges and the lawsuit against NBC, his legal team is working to challenge the growing allegations surrounding his name.
