Federal Prosecutors Accuse Sean “Diddy” Combs of Trying to Influence Witnesses from Jail

Federal prosecutors have accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of breaking jail rules in an effort to influence witness testimony and sway the potential jury in his upcoming trial.
Diddy, 55, is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center while facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting people for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has been denied bail.
Combs’ legal team is challenging the decision to keep him in custody and has asked for a new bail hearing. However, prosecutors are opposing this request, claiming that Diddy has continued to try to obstruct the case, even from behind bars.
“At the defendant’s carefully curated direction, the defendant’s children posted a video to their respective social media accounts showing the defendant’s children gathered to celebrate the defendant’s birthday,” the filing said.
“The defendant’s emphasis on 24/7 private security is also problematic,” the motion said. “The defendant has demonstrated an uncanny ability to get others to do his bidding — employees, family members, and MDC inmates alike.”
According to prosecutors, Diddy has paid other inmates to use their phone accounts to make calls that violate prison rules. They also say Combs used three-way calls to contact people not on his approved list.
The filing also states that Combs instructed his family to contact potential victims and witnesses in the case and spread messages on social media to influence potential jurors for his trial, set for May.
Prosecutors argue that Combs’ actions are attempts to interfere with the legal process and disrupt the fairness of the case.
