How Usher Stays Fit: A Look at His Diet, Exercise, and Mental Health Routine

In a recent talk with WSJ. Magazine, Grammy-winning singer Usher shared his unique health routine, which includes not eating every Wednesday.

He explained, “I fast, not for religious reasons but because my grandmother used to do it.”

He starts fasting at about 11 p.m. on Tuesday and only drinks water all day Wednesday.

“Normally, my workout regimen starts either walking or with certain knee activations and reverse walking that I do to engage my quads, my knees and glutes,” he shared. “Other than that, swimming is a really good thing to get me going, and bike riding. Weight lifting, don’t do a lot of that.”

On other days, Usher enjoys eggs for breakfast after doing some physical activity like walking, stretching, or yoga. He believes in exercising before eating.

He continued, “One thing that is a frequent practice is yoga. It really does help to activate my organs and get my mind moving in the right direction—as Tony Robbins would say, ‘make my move,’ you know what I mean?”

Usher also mixes up his workouts. He might start with walking or exercises that focus on his legs and butt, and he likes swimming and biking too. He doesn’t lift weights much.

Besides physical health, Usher takes time for his mental well-being. He tries to start his day with some quiet time for reflection, reading, or meditation.

Yoga is an important part of his routine because it helps him stay clear-headed and gets his body moving.

Usher’s dedication to staying healthy involves both his body and mind, showing how he keeps himself fit and focused.
