Jeezy Seeks $20K in Legal Fees from Jeannie Mai Amid Divorce Dispute

The divorce proceedings between rapper Jeezy and television host Jeannie Mai have intensified with new legal battles over attorney fees and personal belongings. This week, Jeezy has accused Mai of engaging in “nefarious actions” and has requested that she pay $20,000 to cover his legal expenses accrued from defending against what he describes as her “frivolous” accusations.

The conflict traces back to September 2024 when Mai alleged that Jeezy had violated the terms of their agreement and filed a contempt petition against him.

The couple, who married in March 2021 and share a three-year-old daughter named Monaco Mai Jenkins, has been embroiled in a public and contentious divorce since Jeezy filed in October 2023. Mai has stated that she was blindsided by the divorce, learning about it when the public did.

Earlier this year, tensions escalated when Mai involved the police during an incident at Jeezy’s Georgia residence. She claimed that Jeezy prevented her from retrieving her personal items from the house.

Following a court ruling, Mai was granted permission to collect her belongings, including her Emmy and other awards, within 21 days. However, Jeezy requested the court to amend this order, expressing discomfort with Mai accessing his living space, citing her alleged “angry and revengeful” demeanor.

Jeezy’s concerns extend to fears of Mai potentially planting listening devices or cameras in his home, as his lawyer stated that Jeezy does not feel safe with her presence.

On her side, Mai asserts that she informed Jeezy through her lawyers about her intended visit on December 9, 2024, to collect her packed items from his garage, claiming he initially raised no objections. However, on the day, she and her movers were denied entry.

This ongoing legal dispute highlights the complexities and emotional strain of the couple’s separation, as they navigate the division of their assets and co-parenting responsibilities amidst escalating legal and personal conflicts.
