Jonathan Majors has recently addressed an audio recording that surfaced, revealing a past altercation with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The recording, exclusively obtained by Rolling Stone, captures Majors apparently acknowledging aggressive actions during the incident.
In the audio, which dates back to when the couple lived together in London for the filming of “Loki’s” second season on Disney+, Majors is heard expressing regret over his behavior. “I’m ashamed I’ve ever —,” he starts before stopping abruptly.
He then admits, “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.” Jabbari responds by clarifying, “You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” to which Majors concedes, affirming that such actions are covered by the term “aggressed.”
When queried by Complex about the recording, Majors chose not to directly address the specifics but spoke about his personal development journey. “I was so grateful that I had done my work, you know? And I’m continuing to do my work,” he said, adding that despite the past issues, he was relieved that he had been working on improving himself.
Majors was convicted in December 2023 on two counts of misdemeanor assault following Jabbari’s accusations that he attacked her in the back of an SUV. The court mandated him to complete a 52-week domestic violence intervention program. Despite these charges, he did not face jail time.
The incident and subsequent trial led to Majors’ removal from his role in the Marvel Universe, where he played Kang the Conqueror in “Loki” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” His career, however, continues as he is currently promoting his new film, “Magazine Dreams,” which is showing in theaters.
The timing of the audio’s release coincides with recent news of Majors’ private wedding to actress Meagan Good, shortly after their engagement was announced at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in November. Despite the challenges, Majors remains focused on both his professional commitments and ongoing personal growth.
