Kanye West’s Old Comments About Diddy Resurface, LeBron James Pulled Into the Drama

After Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ arrest, old comments made by Kanye West about the music mogul have started making headlines again. American commentator Candace Owens talked about this on her YouTube channel, bringing up what West had said about Diddy and also involving NBA star LeBron James in the conversation.
In October 2022, West appeared on the Drink Champs podcast and criticized Diddy, calling him a “fed” (a federal informant). Though the podcast episode was later deleted, clips of West’s comments have resurfaced on social media.
“The reason why you’re coming at me is because you made a deal, you f fed! You got out of trouble, and part of the deal was to come after me,” West said.
Back then, West’s words didn’t get much attention, but now more people are listening, especially Owens. During her YouTube livestream, Owens said West has a unique way of speaking and that, while his words often cause controversy, they sometimes make sense later on.
“There’s something about Kanye West,” Owens said. “He gets himself into trouble, but when you look back at what he said, you realize he was making sense. A lot of things Kanye said years ago are now starting to make sense.”
Owens went further, suggesting that Diddy being a “fed” might be why he avoids getting into legal trouble. She also brought up LeBron James, criticizing him for not speaking out on the issue, even though he often comments on other social matters.
During the Drink Champs podcast, West had mentioned several celebrities and athletes, including James, saying they were “controlled.” “They can’t control me. They can control Shaq, they can control Charles Barkley, they can control LeBron James, they can control Jay-Z and Beyoncé. But they can’t control me,” West said.
Owens criticized James for staying quiet about the Diddy situation, even though he’s known for speaking up on other topics. “LeBron talks about everything else, but he’s silent about Diddy. Why does he always give his opinion when no one asks, but says nothing now?” she questioned.
Diddy was arrested on September 16 on serious federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. With his legal troubles growing, the resurfacing of West’s comments and Owens’ harsh words have added more attention to the situation.
