Kobe Bryant Memorabilia Sells for Over $1.5 Million at Auction

Kobe Bryant’s legacy remains strong as more of his memorabilia was sold for over a million dollars at an auction on August 18. Goldin Auctions shared on social media that a signed Kobe Bryant trading card from the 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection was sold for $1,584,643.

The card featured a game-used Logoman patch and Kobe’s signature, making it a valuable item for collectors.

Even years after Kobe’s tragic death in 2020, the demand for his memorabilia remains high. Earlier this year in April, one of Kobe’s championship rings was sold at auction for a record-breaking $927,200—the highest amount ever paid for an NBA championship ring. This sale beat the previous record of $705,000 set in 2021 for Bill Russell’s 1957 championship ring.

Kobe’s influence continues beyond basketball. Earlier this month, his wife, Vanessa Bryant, revealed her LA 2028 Olympics logo design, inspired by Kobe’s legacy. In a video posted on social media, Vanessa spoke about how much representing the U.S. as an Olympian meant to Kobe.

“Kobe was the ultimate athlete, and he took his role as an Olympian very seriously,” Vanessa said. “He was so proud to represent our country. His two gold medals were among his proudest accomplishments.”

Kobe Bryant spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five NBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, and the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player title. He was an 18-time All-Star and became the youngest player to score 30,000 points in NBA history. Kobe retired in 2016 after an incredible final game, where he scored 60 points.

Kobe’s life was tragically cut short when he, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on January 26, 2020. Despite his passing, Kobe’s legacy continues to inspire fans, and his memorabilia remains in high demand among collectors.
