The BET Awards are returning with a star-studded lineup to mark a milestone year. Lil Wayne has been confirmed as a headlining performer at the 2025 BET Awards, alongside GloRilla, Playboi Carti, and Teyana Taylor.
Singer-songwriter Leon Thomas will also make his debut on the BET Awards stage at the 25th annual celebration.
Connie Orlando, Executive Vice President of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET, promised a night to remember.
“We’re setting the tone for a night that celebrates 25 years of impact, creativity, and Black culture,” she said.
“With electrifying performances from some of the biggest names in music and an iconic comedic host, BET Awards 2025 will be a can’t-miss celebration of everything the culture represents.”
In addition to musical performances, the awards show will include a tribute to 106 & Park, the iconic music video countdown show that became a cultural staple in the early 2000s.
The tribute is creatively directed by Teyana Taylor and The Aunties Production, and will reunite fan-favorite hosts including AJ Calloway, Free, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi Diaz, and Terrence J.
Performers for the 106 & Park tribute include Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I., and others who helped define a generation of music television.
Comedian and actor Kevin Hart has been tapped to host this year’s ceremony.
“I’m truly honored to host the 25th BET Awards and celebrate the culture’s biggest night,” Hart said. “This year marks the 25th anniversary, and my partners at Hartbeat, BET, and JCE are pulling out all the stops to make it a night to remember. It’s a black-tie affair, and you’re all invited.”
Leading the nominations this year is Kendrick Lamar with 10 nods, including Artist of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Artist. Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla follow closely behind with six nominations each.
The 2025 BET Awards will air live on Monday, June 9, at 8 PM ET/PT, exclusively on BET.
