Lil Wayne Unaware by Hot Boys Reunion: "They Haven't Told Me Anything"

In a recent interview on the Not Just Football podcast, Lil Wayne expressed surprise at reports of a Hot Boys reunion album, indicating that he hadn’t been informed about the project. When asked about the reunion by host Cam Heyward, the New Orleans native seemed genuinely puzzled.

“Sh*t, you just told me! When they coming? When them boys coming? I need to go check it out — I’d love to see that!” Wayne responded.

Heyward, a Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman, clarified that Juvenile had mentioned the reunion was underway and that the Hot Boys were already working on a new album. Despite this, Wayne maintained his bewildered stance, insisting he did not know of any official plans involving the Cash Money group.

“That’s what he saying? I ain’t been to the kitchen yet. I would not lie to you,” the rap icon said. “I have not been in that kitchen yet. I have no problem with going to that kitchen… but I ain’t smell it, it ain’t come through the window yet. I ain’t smell the food… They ain’t told me nothing yet… But I’m outside, I’m outside, I’ll go into the kitchen if the smell it through the window.”

During the interview, Wayne did provide an update on his much-anticipated album, Tha Carter 6. He explained that the project was completed but is currently undergoing editing due to an abundance of tracks. Additionally, Wayne shared his dream of collaborating with music legends Michael Jackson and Prince, highlighting his admiration for the late artists.

The discussion about a Hot Boys reunion had gained traction after Juvenile’s comments during an Instagram Live session in May. The “Slow Motion” rapper addressed fans’ calls for the Cash Money group to reunite, especially following B.G.’s release from prison. Juvenile asserted that the reunion was indeed happening and that an album was in the works.

“Hot Boys is back together, man,” Juvenile said on Instagram Live. “What you talkin’ about put the Hot Boys back together? Show y’all ain’t keeping up with sh*t. Turk gonna be with me tonight, I’m gonna be with B.G. next week. Me, Wayne, Turk, and B.G., all of us gonna be on stage in New Orleans with Mannie Fresh and Birdman.

And we already done started working on a Hot Boys album. Any other fking questions? Keep on askin’ put the Hot Boys together. Have some fkin’ patience.”Despite Juvenile’s enthusiasm and assurances, it appears that Lil Wayne is still waiting for his invitation to join the reunion efforts.
