Michael Jordan Acquires $65 Million Gulfstream Private Jet

Michael Jordan, NBA Hall of Famer and billionaire, continues to make headlines with his high-profile purchases. His latest acquisition? A luxurious Gulfstream G650ER private jet, reportedly valued at around $65 million.

The new jet, featuring Jordan’s iconic Jumpman logo on the tail and the registration number N236MJ, was recently spotted at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida.

According to Private Jet Clubs, the custom-painted jet, which cost an additional $500,000 for its unique design, can accommodate up to 19 people, with sleeping arrangements for 10 passengers.

With a maximum range of 8,630 miles, the Gulfstream G650ER is one of the most elite private jets in the world. Jordan joins a select group of billionaires, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, who also own this aircraft model. This marks an upgrade for Jordan, who previously owned a Gulfstream G550.

While Jordan’s wealth allows for such extravagant purchases, he is also making moves off the court in the legal arena. Recently, he filed an antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR alongside Front Row Motorsports, another team owner.

The suit alleges that NASCAR and its CEO, Jim France, have engaged in anti-competitive practices that hurt team owners, drivers, sponsors, and fans alike. According to the lawsuit, NASCAR controls many aspects of the business, including the ownership of racetracks and the selection of single-source suppliers, limiting fair competition.

23XI Racing, the team Jordan co-owns, and Front Row Motorsports are particularly concerned with NASCAR’s exclusive control over race supplies and the restriction preventing teams from participating in other stock car races. The legal battle highlights ongoing tensions in the sport over transparency and competition.
