A video from 2016 of famous actor Morgan Freeman praising Tesla CEO Elon Musk has come up again on social media. This happens as Musk faces criticism for making a Nazi salute at a Donald Trump rally.
In the video, Morgan Freeman, who owns shares in Tesla, complimented Musk’s innovative ideas in technology.
Business Insider mentioned that Morgan Freeman’s investment in Tesla has grown a lot. If he had put $10,000 into Tesla shares in 2016, it could now be worth over $300,000. This shows how much Musk’s company has increased in value.
In the clip, Freeman checks Tesla’s stock prices on his phone while working. He says he’s a big fan of Musk, stating, “I own Tesla. I’m a huge fan of Elon Musk’s and I think he’s got the most incredibly forward-thinking ideas about where we can go technologically.”
Freeman praised Musk’s achievements, like landing a rocket ship so it can be used again, which he compared to the early settlers of the Old West.
“Now we’re taking off and we’re going to Mars, delivering stuff to people who are going to be settling there, just like they settled the Old West, and bringing those ships back and landing them and reloading them,” Freeman said.
However, Musk’s recent support for Donald Trump and connections with far-right politics have brought a lot of criticism. He has been involved with Alice Weidel, the leader of Germany’s Alternative for Germany party.
At a recent rally, Musk said that people should move past the “guilt of previous generations,” a comment that has caused a lot of disagreements.
This situation shows a complicated story about Elon Musk, who used to be seen as a great innovator but is now involved in political controversy.
