Muhammad Ali’s Grandson Calls Jake Paul an ‘Embarrassment’ to Boxing, Says Ali Would Have Called Him Out

Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, is making a name for himself in the ring while standing up for the sport he loves. After Jake Paul’s recent fight with Mike Tyson, Walsh didn’t hold back his feelings, criticizing Paul for stepping into the ring with Tyson, who is both a friend and student of his late grandfather.

The fight ended with Paul defeating Tyson by unanimous decision, but many fans were left unimpressed. The 58-year-old Tyson, long past his prime, struggled to show the skills that once made him the youngest heavyweight champion in history. With a 30-year age gap between the fighters, many questioned whether the fight should have even happened.

Walsh shared his frustration on social media after the bout. “Jake Paul is an embarrassment to this sport,” Walsh wrote. “If my grandfather was still around, he’d call him out. Absolutely no shame… Love you Mike.”

In response, Paul challenged Walsh to a fight. However, Walsh pointed out a key issue: the two are in different weight classes. Walsh fights at 155 pounds, while Paul weighs 185 pounds, a 30-pound difference that would make the matchup unfair.

Walsh also criticized Paul for choosing opponents who boost his public image instead of fighting boxers in his own weight division.

Despite Paul reportedly offering Walsh a multimillion-dollar deal to join his promotion company, MVP Promotions, Walsh turned it down. He explained why during an interview with Bleacher Report:

“Before this fight, I denied a multimillion-dollar contract from MVP Promotions to fight Jake Paul, and I’m fighting a real fighter tonight. I’m not part of that circus league of boxing. This is the real league of boxing, and this is what I’m going to do.”

Walsh has a professional record of 10 wins and 1 loss, with five of those victories by knockout. He’s focused on building a serious career in boxing and staying true to the sport’s traditions. While Jake Paul’s flashy fights may grab headlines, Ali Walsh is determined to honor his grandfather’s legacy by competing in what he calls “real boxing.”
