Nick Cannon Says Getting Back with Mariah Carey Is Unlikely, Despite His Hopes

Nick Cannon has shared his thoughts on the possibility of reuniting with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. Although he still has love for the singer, the TV star admitted that it’s not likely to happen.

At the Fox Fall Press Day on Thursday, September 5, Cannon talked about comments he made earlier, saying he would “absolutely” want to get back with Carey. But he now admits that while his feelings are still there, Carey has moved on.

“Yeah, she doesn’t want me,” the 43-year-old told PEOPLE. “She’s moved on from my crazy behavior.”

Earlier this month, Cannon told E! News that he hoped for a second chance with the “We Belong Together” singer, saying, “We belong together,” and that he would love to reunite with her if he could.

Cannon and Carey got married in 2008 and have 13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who were born in 2011. They split in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. Since then, Cannon has had 10 more children with different women.

Along with his twins with Carey, Cannon has sons Golden Sagon, 7, and Rise Messiah, 1, and daughter Powerful Queen, 3, with Brittany Bell. He also has 3-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, and 1-year-old daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa.

Cannon’s other children include son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi, daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon with Alyssa Scott. Cannon and Scott’s son Zen tragically passed away at 5 months old in 2021 due to brain cancer.

Even with his large family, Cannon says the mothers of his children get along well, though he doesn’t expect them to.

“People think it would be hard, but everyone lives their own life, before and after me,” he told E! News. “That’s how we keep the peace—everyone focuses on themselves, not on what others are doing.”

“As long as the kids are happy and understand the situation, that’s what matters most,” he added.
