Nicki Minaj Sued by Former Fan for $5 Million

Tameer Peak, once a dedicated fan of Nicki Minaj, is now suing the rapper for $5 million, alleging damage to his reputation, emotional distress, and financial loss. The lawsuit marks a serious breakdown in the relationship between Peak, who used to be part of Minaj’s loyal fan base known as the “Barbz,” and the star.
Peak says the trouble began in 2017, during what he calls the “Nicki Hate Train” period—a time when Minaj allegedly accused some fans of trying to sabotage her. He claims she targeted him, accusing him of being a mole.
Things got worse, according to Peak, during an Instagram Live session where Minaj publicly insulted him in front of over 100,000 viewers. He also alleges that during the 2020 Super Bowl, he was physically attacked by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty.
TMZ reports that Minaj allegedly said things like, “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket at the picnic,” which Peak took as an insult to his mental health. She also reportedly said he was “one sandwich short of a picnic” and implied he was on welfare.
Minaj has not commented on the lawsuit, but her lawyer, Judd Burstein, dismissed the claims, saying, “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years with no success.” He added, “Now, he’s trying to get money with false accusations and weak legal claims. He will regret this when he has to pay her legal fees, as required by California law.”
The case has been filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, where it will now be addressed in court.
