Offset Blasts Elon Musk for Supporting Derek Chauvin Pardon, Says He’s Done with Tesla

Elon Musk’s latest political move has upset rapper Offset, who called out the billionaire for backing a campaign to pardon Derek Chauvin, the former police officer convicted of killing George Floyd.
Offset expressed his anger on Instagram, calling Musk a “racist b***h playing in Black folks’ faces.” The rapper also announced he would stop driving Tesla cars. “Driving Ferrari, not Tesla,” he wrote.
Elon Musk sparked controversy after sharing conservative commentator Ben Shapiro’s video supporting Chauvin’s release, adding, “Something to think about.” Given Musk’s influence as the owner of X (formerly Twitter) and his role in the government, his support could bring more attention to the campaign.
Musk also has close ties to former President Donald Trump, making the situation even more heated.
Shapiro’s Push for Chauvin’s Release
Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison in 2021 for George Floyd’s murder, which led to nationwide protests. However, Shapiro claims the trial was unfair and recently sent a letter to Trump asking for a pardon.
“We ask you to immediately pardon Officer Derek Chauvin, who was unfairly convicted,” Shapiro wrote. He argued that the jury was pressured to find Chauvin guilty and that the media forced a biased outcome.
More Rappers Speak Out Against Elon Musk
Offset is not the only rapper who has criticized Elon Musk. Cardi B, Eminem, and Tyler, The Creator have also spoken out against his political views. In 2024, Tyler changed the lyrics of his song during a performance at Austin City Limits, switching “Shout out Elon Musk” to “F**k Elon.”
Musk’s political opinions continue to spark backlash, and this latest controversy has added to the growing list of celebrities speaking out against him.
