Porsha Williams Steps In Financially for Ex-Husband Simon Guobadia After ICE Detention

Reality TV star Porsha Williams is once again making headlines, this time not for a fashion statement or reunion drama, but for stepping in to support her ex-husband Simon Guobadia following his detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Newly released court audio reveals that the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum took it upon herself to pay Guobadia’s child support and household maintenance costs while he was in federal custody.

“Yes, I paid his child support for his two sons. I also paid maintenance for the house, outside of Porsha Williams stated under oath.

When pressed by the judge about her decision to provide financial support despite their looming divorce, Porsha Williams responded candidly:

“I really got concerned, being that Simon was still detained… I’m still married to him at the end of the day, and I just really felt it was unfortunate that they weren’t getting any help,” she said. “The mother had reached out to my assistant and said she was concerned. When I spoke to her, she made me aware that it had not been paid. I paid [his child support].”

A Contentious Split

The couple’s whirlwind marriage, which lasted just over a year, ended in a legal tangle after Williams filed for divorce earlier this year. She requested that the court uphold their prenuptial agreement, which reportedly included monthly alimony, division of property, and legal cost responsibilities.

Guobadia fought to challenge the terms—but the court ultimately ruled in Williams’ favor. Soon after, Guobadia was deported to Nigeria, following complications related to his immigration status.

Guobadia Speaks on Trump, Detention, and His Future

In a post-deportation interview with Us Weekly, Guobadia opened up about his detention and shared unexpected praise for former President Donald Trump. After being detained, Guobadia spoke highly about the Trump administration to US Weekly. “Donny, like I refer to him, we are very similar. We’re both Geminis, and some of his antics, I certainly can understand it. Sometimes [I would] say that we are misunderstood.”

“Donny, like I refer to him, we are very similar. We’re both Geminis, and some of his antics, I certainly can understand it,” he said. “Sometimes I’d say that we are misunderstood.”

He continued, positioning himself as a kind of executive peer to Trump:

“I don’t have any problems with Donald Trump. Like any other CEO, we look to hire the best people. The issues he’s dealing with are no different than any other organization. There are things I witnessed [while detained] that I believe I could help the administration with.”

As for whether he plans to challenge his deportation?

“I have no intention of fighting to return,” Guobadia said. “But if the opportunity presents itself, I’d come back.”
