Primary Wave Might Buy Notorious B.I.G.'s Music Catalog

Following the recent passing of Violetta Wallace, the mother of the famous rapper The Notorious B.I.G., there’s news about a big deal involving her son’s music.

Reports indicate that a company wants to buy Biggie’s music catalog for between $100 to $150 million. This deal includes his songs, possibly the rights to use his music, name, image, and voice.

Mark Pitts and Wayne Barrow, who helped start Bystorm Entertainment and managed Biggie’s career, are handling the deal. They are in talks with Larry Mestel and Steve Greener from Primary Wave, a company known for owning music from famous artists like Bob Marley and Whitney Houston.

Primary Wave, which started in 2006, manages music rights and looks after both legendary musicians and current stars like Andre 3000. If this deal goes through, they would own 50% of Biggie’s music and image rights.

This news comes just two weeks after Biggie’s mom died naturally at 72. She had been in hospice care in Pennsylvania. Under her management, Biggie’s estate grew from $10 million when he died in 1997 to about $160 million today.

Biggie, who is remembered as a major influence in hip-hop, left behind two children, T’yanna Wallace and Christopher Wallace Jr. This deal highlights the lasting importance and value of his music.
