Prosecutors to Use 911 Call, Employee Testimonies in Upcoming Diddy Trial

As Sean “Diddy” Combs prepares to face trial on May 5, new details have emerged about the prosecution’s strategy in a sweeping case that includes allegations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and other serious offenses.

According to documents obtained by AllHipHop, federal prosecutors intend to introduce audio from a 2011 911 call as evidence. The call, placed by one of Diddy’s alleged victims, reportedly details the music mogul breaking into their Los Angeles home.

Prosecutors argue the call is admissible because it captures the immediate mental and emotional state of the victim—referred to as “Individual 2”—just after discovering the break-in.

“Because this call was made shortly after discovering the break-in… Individual 2’s statements are admissible,” Acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky stated.

The call is expected to help build the government’s broader case, which paints the Bad Boy Records founder as the head of an organized and coercive criminal enterprise.

Employee Testimonies and Internal Communications

The government’s case doesn’t stop at emergency call recordings. Prosecutors are also expected to introduce text messages, internal recordings, and testimony from former employees of Diddy’s entertainment businesses. These individuals are expected to testify that they were forced to carry out tasks that supported his alleged criminal network.

“The Government anticipates introducing multiple statements made by the defendant’s employees,” Podolsky noted. “These statements—ranging from texts to voice recordings—highlight the employees’ duties in service of the defendant.”

The evidence will reportedly cover topics including surveillance, travel logistics, and the handling of sensitive or potentially incriminating information.

Prosecution Pushes to Limit Defense Narrative

In a pre-trial motion, prosecutors are requesting that the court restrict Diddy’s defense team from introducing certain past statements—particularly those that might suggest the charges are politically motivated or retaliatory. The motion seeks to prevent any attempt to shape the public narrative around Diddy’s character unless the statements fall within strict legal exceptions.

This legal strategy underscores the government’s intent to focus the trial solely on the evidence at hand, without the influence of outside speculation or celebrity status.

Cassie to Testify Publicly

Among the most anticipated developments is the expected courtroom testimony of singer and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who will reportedly testify under her real name.

Cassie filed the first rape lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, sparking a cascade of similar legal actions. In May 2024, surveillance footage surfaced allegedly showing Diddy assaulting Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.
