Ravens Lose Close Playoff Game, Lamar Jackson Stands by Teammate

In a tough playoff game this Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens lost by just two points to the Buffalo Bills, 27-25. Lamar Jackson, the team’s star quarterback, didn’t blame his teammate, Mark Andrews, for a missed catch that could have tied the game.

“Turnovers are what hurt us,” Jackson said after the game, clearly upset. “We didn’t hold onto the ball, and that’s why we lost, not because of one dropped pass.”

The Ravens were close to a comeback with Jackson’s late touchdown pass to Isaiah Likely making it a two-point game. All eyes were on tight end Mark Andrews when he missed a critical catch for a 2-point conversion that would have tied the game.

Coach John Harbaugh defended Andrews, saying, “Mark is a key player for us. This game doesn’t change that. He’s got great character.”

Despite a tough game with a couple of dropped passes, Andrews has been a reliable player all season. His teammates supported him, emphasizing that the loss was a team effort. “We all share responsibility,” safety Kyle Hamilton said. “No single play defines us.”

Jackson also supported Andrews on the sidelines right after the play. “We’re in this together,” Jackson said. “It’s not Mark’s fault. We all play a part in every game. We have to learn and get better.”

Jackson admitted he needed to improve as well, pointing out his own mistakes in the game, like interceptions and fumbles. “I need to protect the ball better,” he said, taking responsibility as the team leader.

As the Ravens end their season, Jackson is already thinking about next year. “We’re always close to winning,” he said. “Next year, we have to do more than just get close. We have to win.”

The Ravens and their fans will keep their hopes up for a better finish next season, with strong team spirit carrying them forward.
