Simone Biles Urges Joe Biden to "Make Things Shake" Before Leaving the White House

Simone Biles recently shared her thoughts on social media, offering advice to President Joe Biden as he concludes his term, following Donald Trump’s recent 2024 election win.

“Mr. Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back, and make some things shake before your departure,” Biles wrote in a heartfelt message on X this past Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 6). She signed off with, “xoxo, the women in America,” accompanied by a blue heart emoji.

This message was one of many from the 27-year-old gymnast, who responded across platforms to the latest political developments. On Threads, Biles voiced a mix of disappointment and frustration, posting statements like, “You gotta be f**king kidding me,” “I’m SO sorry, America,” and “we deserve better,” finishing with a broken heart emoji.

Previously, Biles had expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, who made history with her presidential campaign.

On Wednesday morning, the race was officially called for former President Trump, who secured both the electoral and popular votes. His win makes him the first president since Grover Cleveland to serve nonconsecutive terms and, at 78, the oldest to take office.

“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president,” Trump stated after his victory. “Every single day, I will fight for you, your family, and your future with every breath in my body.”

Vice President Kamala Harris later addressed her supporters, conceding the race and sharing a hopeful message. “This outcome is not what we wanted or fought for,” she acknowledged from Howard University’s campus.

“But hear me when I say… the light of America’s promise will always burn bright, as long as we never give up and keep fighting.”

President Biden is expected to make a public statement on Thursday morning (Nov. 7).
