TikTok has been removed from the U.S. App Store, and it’s not clear when it will be available again. This follows unclear comments from former President Donald Trump about possibly allowing the app to continue operating in the U.S.

Recently, TikTok told its iPhone users that its service might stop soon. A message to users said, “We regret that a U.S. law banning TikTok will take effect on January 19, forcing us to make our services temporarily unavailable.

We’re working to restore our service in the U.S. as soon as possible, and we appreciate your support. Please stay tuned.”

There’s been a lot of talk on social media about what will happen to the app. Earlier, the app had tweeted, “Unless the Biden Administration immediately provides a definitive statement to satisfy the most critical service providers assuring non-enforcement, unfortunately, TikTok will be forced to go dark on January 19.”

Trump also tweeted recently, saying he’s still thinking about what to do with TikTok: “My decision on TikTok will be made in the not too distant future, but I must have time to review the situation. Stay tuned!”

Right now, the app can’t be accessed, and users are getting messages that the service has shut down for now. The app being taken off Apple’s App Store shows just how serious this situation is, and it looks like TikTok might not be available in the U.S. for a long time.

The platform is hoping Trump will allow it to operate again during his next term, showing how important his decision is. Everyone is waiting to see what happens next with this ongoing story.
