Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson have officially finalized their divorce, a little over a year after announcing their separation. The news follows Tina’s recent efforts to expedite the process by submitting necessary financial documents, and it now appears that Richard has done the same, leading to the finalization of their divorce.
According to legal documents obtained by Hot97 on Thursday, neither party will receive spousal support, but Tina Knowles will be required to pay Richard a one-time lump sum of $300,000.
Additionally, Richard will retain ownership of a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, along with several bank and retirement accounts, any funds and royalties owed to Richard Lawson Studios, and all creative works he developed during their marriage.
On the other hand, Tina will keep ownership of her Los Angeles home and everything in it, along with a one-percent stake in Kirby Beauty Management LLC.
She will also retain ownership of all creative works she produced during their marriage, a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, and her partnership with Penguin Random House for her book, The Matriarch. Tina will also be responsible for any credit card debt incurred during their eight-year marriage.
In addition to the financial settlement, the former couple has agreed to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), which prevents either of them from speaking negatively about each other or their respective children and grandchildren in any public forum or media, with a particular emphasis on not speaking ill of their grandchildren.
The finalization of their divorce marks the end of an eight-year relationship between Tina and Richard.
