Trump Pledges to End Wars and Restore US Power if Re-Elected

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump promised on Thursday to end international crises and restore America’s global respect, saying he could “stop wars with a phone call.”
At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump painted a dark picture of the world under President Joe Biden, claiming the planet is “teetering on the edge of World War III.”
“We will bring peace, stability, and harmony to the world,” Trump said, but did not explain how he would do it.
“Under our leadership, the United States will be respected again. No nation will question our power, no enemy will doubt our strength, our borders will be completely secure,” he added.
Trump blamed Biden for global conflicts, even those that began long before Biden took office. “The world is in crisis… war is raging in Europe and the Middle East, and conflict is threatening Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, and all of Asia,” he said.
The former president promised to fix these issues if elected again. “I will end every international crisis that the current administration has created, including the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said. He added that to achieve this future, the nation must first be saved from “failed and incompetent leadership.”
Trump also demanded the release of Americans held abroad, threatening consequences: “The entire world, I tell you this: we want our hostages back, and they better be back before I take office, or you will be paying a very big price,” he said, without giving details.
He promised to build a version of Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system for the United States, even though it is designed for short-range threats and would not work against long-range missiles, which are the main danger to the country.
Trump also suggested that Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader he met during his presidency, wanted him back in the White House. “I get along with him, he’d like to see me back too. I think he misses me, if you want to know,” Trump said.
