Former President Donald Trump used Christmas Day to criticize President Joe Biden’s decision to change the sentences of 37 people on federal death row.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump told the individuals to “go to hell.” “Also, to the 37 most violent criminals, who killed, raped, and plundered like virtually no one before them, but were just given, incredibly, a pardon by Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump wrote.

“I refuse to wish a Merry Christmas to those lucky ‘souls’ but, instead, will say, GO TO HELL!” Earlier this week, President Biden commuted the death sentences, changing them to life in prison.

Trump has been outspoken in his disapproval of this decision, calling it a bad move.

Trump’s Foreign Policy Claims

In the same post, Trump shifted focus to international issues. He accused China of taking over the Panama Canal and called for changes to U.S. relationships with Canada and Greenland.

“Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal,” Trump wrote.

He claimed China is controlling the canal, which the U.S. helped build but handed over to Panama in 1999.

Trump then addressed Canada, criticizing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and suggesting Canada should become the U.S.’s 51st state.

“If Canada was to become our 51st State, their Taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other Country anywhere in the World,” he said.

Finally, Trump mentioned Greenland, saying the U.S. needs it for security reasons. “To the people of Greenland, which is needed by the United States for National Security purposes and, who want the U.S. to be there, and we will!…”

Strong Reactions

Trump’s statements have sparked mixed reactions. Supporters say he’s standing up for American interests, while critics accuse him of making wild claims and stirring controversy.

Biden’s administration has not responded to Trump’s comments, which come as Trump continues to weigh his chances in the 2024 presidential election.
