Trump to Deliver First Joint Address of Second Term to Congress

President Donald Trump is set to deliver a joint address to Congress on Tuesday night, marking his first major speech of his second term. The address, themed “The Renewal of the American Dream,” will outline his administration’s policies and legislative priorities.

Key Themes of Trump’s Speech

Scheduled for 9 p.m. EST, the speech will highlight:

  1. Accomplishments in Trump’s second term—both domestically and internationally.
  2. Economic reforms aimed at tackling inflation and revitalizing American manufacturing.
  3. Border security measures, including funding for deportations and continued construction of the southern border wall.
  4. Foreign policy objectives, particularly ending the war in Ukraine and securing the release of hostages in Gaza.

Trump’s Aggressive Policy Push

Since taking office in January 2025, Trump has moved swiftly to implement his “Make America Great Again” policies, issuing over 200 executive actions on his first day.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the speech’s significance, telling Fox News Digital:

“President Trump has accomplished more in one month than any president in four years. In his joint address to Congress, he will celebrate his extraordinarily successful first month in office while outlining his bold, ambitious, and commonsense vision for the future.”

Officials say Trump will discuss the administration’s efforts to combat inflation and bring $1.7 trillion in investments to revitalize U.S. manufacturing. He is also expected to push Congress for additional border security funding.

On foreign policy, Trump will present his strategy to end the war in Ukraine and ensure the release of hostages from Gaza.

Ahead of the address, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying:

“Tomorrow night will be big. I will tell it like it is!”

A White House official echoed that sentiment, adding:

“As always, President Trump will keep it real and speak the truth.”

The speech is expected to set the tone for Trump’s second term and shape his administration’s legislative agenda moving forward.
