Vice President Kamala Harris Delivers Heartfelt Speech, Promises to ‘Keep Fighting’ for Americans

Vice President Kamala Harris gave a heartfelt concession speech at Howard University after her presidential race loss, expressing pride in her campaign and urging her supporters to stay hopeful and committed to America’s future.

Addressing a crowd of supporters at her former college, Harris acknowledged the disappointment of losing but encouraged everyone to keep fighting for the nation’s promise. “The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, but remember: the light of America’s promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up,” she said.

Harris thanked President Joe Biden, her campaign team, her family, and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who watched with tears. “Our service to this nation will continue,” she assured.

She also confirmed she had called President-elect Donald Trump to congratulate him and promised a peaceful transition of power. In a firm reminder about democracy, she said, “A key principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results. This principle separates democracy from monarchy or tyranny.”

Harris spoke directly to young voters, who may feel uncertain about the future, urging them not to lose hope. “It’s going to be OK,” she reassured.

“Sometimes change takes time, but that doesn’t mean we won’t succeed. The important thing is to keep trying to make the world a better place. You have power.”

She closed with a message about possibilities: “Don’t let anyone tell you something isn’t possible just because it hasn’t been done before.”

In a statement, Trump’s spokesperson, Steven Cheung, shared that the President-elect praised Harris for her strength and professionalism during the campaign and that both leaders agreed on the need to unify the country.
