Law Roach Joins ‘Project Runway’ as Judge in Landmark Season 21 Debut

Celebrity stylist Law Roach is set to bring his signature flair and keen fashion sense to Season 21 of Project Runway, marking a “full-circle moment” in his career.

Law Roach, celebrated for styling the likes of Zendaya, Cardi B, and Angela Bassett, will make his official judging debut when the new season premieres July 31 on Disney+, Freeform, and Hulu.

A native of Chicago, Roach joins returning host Heidi Klum, beloved mentor and former Project Runway winner Christian Siriano, and Elle Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia—both industry veterans he knows well.

Law Roach describes his new role as a natural next step, rooted in years of admiration for the iconic design competition.

“It just felt like the right time to enter a space that felt really familiar because I grew up watching that show,” Roach told Out. “I remember watching Christian’s season when he won, so it felt like a full-circle moment to be invited to be a judge.”

Roach is no stranger to television, having previously served as a judge on HBO Max’s Legendary and guest judged on RuPaul’s Drag Race. He sees each platform as an opportunity to reveal a different side of himself.

“When I’m on television, I get to show a small part of myself that is quick-witted and sassy—things I don’t always express in my professional life,” he shared. “This gives me a chance to be expressive in a different way.”

While RuPaul’s Drag Race incorporates fashion, Roach notes that Project Runway is singularly dedicated to discovering fashion’s next stars—a prospect that excites him.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is a talent show that includes fashion, and Project Runway is a fashion show with great talent,” Roach said. “What makes me excited about Project Runway is that I’m looking at the next generation of Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs, and I get to meet those talents at the ground level.”

Looking ahead, Roach says he hopes his career continues to unfold organically, whether that means more on-screen roles or styling high-profile clients.

“Everything happens organically, and I hope to keep it that way,” he said.
