Man Killed, Woman Injured in Early Morning Shooting Outside Jacksonville Bar

Jacksonville, FL – May 19, 2025

A man is dead and a woman injured following a double shooting that occurred early Monday morning outside a popular Jacksonville bar, authorities confirmed.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), the shooting took place shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind Locals’ Bar, located along Kings Avenue in the San Marco area, just south of Prudential Drive.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims—a man and a woman, both in their 30s—were involved in an argument with another individual before shots were fired. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. She is expected to recover.

JSO reported that several individuals, including the suspected shooter, were detained at the scene for questioning. However, no arrests have been made as of the time of reporting.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from surrounding businesses and have assured the public that the incident appears to be isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community.
