Meet the Black Republican Mafia: The Young Black Conservatives Making Waves in D.C.

A new group of young Black conservatives is getting attention in Washington, D.C., and they call themselves the “Black Republican Mafia.”

This isn’t a real mafia, but a nickname for a group of friends and colleagues who work in politics, help run campaigns, and share ideas, all while being proud supporters of the Republican Party.

Who Are They?

The Black Republican Mafia is made up of young people in their 20s who work in different roles in politics. Some of the most known members include:

  • Emery Washington – Deputy Press Secretary at the Department of Energy
  • CJ Pearson – Social media influencer and advisor to the Republican Party
  • Janiyah Thomas – Led Black media outreach for Trump’s 2024 campaign

These young professionals are proud to support Donald Trump and believe the Republican Party is giving them more chances than ever before.

What Makes Them Stand Out?

Unlike many Black Americans who support the Democratic Party, these young people openly support Republican ideas and the MAGA movement. They use social media and group chats to discuss politics, share ideas, and even meet up at popular spots in D.C.

One thing that makes them different is that they don’t believe they need diversity programs (DEI) to succeed. Instead, they say their success comes from working hard and being talented.

Why Are People Talking About Them?

The Black Republican Mafia is changing the way people think about Black Republicans. They’re helping the Republican Party find new ways to reach young Black voters. Their style is cool and modern, and they show that Black conservatism can be fresh and youthful.

Not everyone likes what they’re doing. Some people in the Black community think they are out of touch with real issues. Some older Republicans may also be uncomfortable with their boldness and new ways.

But despite the criticism, this group is making a name for themselves. They’re showing that Black conservatives have a place and a voice in American politics.

Will this group inspire more young Black people to join the Republican Party, or are they just a small trend? Only time will tell. For now, the Black Republican Mafia is breaking stereotypes and bringing new energy to politics in D.C.
