Halle Bailey Granted Restraining Order Against DDG Amid Allegations of Abuse

After months of speculation surrounding their rocky relationship, new court filings have shed light on the serious allegations singer Halle Bailey is making against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber Darryl Dwayne “DDG” Grandberry Jr.

The 25-year-old artist and mother has been granted a temporary restraining order following claims of emotional and physical abuse, raising deep concerns among fans and the public alike.

“I realize that there is no placating Darryl,” Bailey wrote in court documents obtained by People. “I cannot allow this abuse any longer.”

According to the filings, Bailey accuses DDG of repeatedly calling her degrading names—including “b**ch” and “evil”—often in front of their 17-month-old son, Halo. She also alleges that DDG used his online platforms to manipulate public opinion, incite harassment against her, and fabricate narratives about their custody situation.

“He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men,” Bailey wrote. “As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media… He seems to try to set up drama for his fans. He goes ‘live’ ranting about me and alleges that I am keeping Halo from him. This is false. I have requested a set schedule, which he refuses.”

One particularly disturbing incident described in the documents involved a violent altercation during a custody exchange. Bailey claims that after a disagreement in the car, DDG pulled her hair and slammed her face into the steering wheel, resulting in a chipped tooth and a visible bruise on her arm. She included photographic evidence to support her claim.

The situation escalated further during Bailey’s recent trip to St. Lucia with her sister, Chloë, and their son. DDG allegedly accused her of being unfaithful while abroad. In a message addressed to him, Bailey pleaded for peace:

“Darryl, are u not tired of harassing me? You make up a new lie on me every day… I’m in St. Lucia having fun with Shermay and Chloë, not with any man out here. I wouldn’t do that, I have Halo… Please let me enjoy my Mother’s Day in peace.”

Bailey is now seeking full custody of Halo while she films in Italy this summer, a two-month project beginning in June. She noted that she will be traveling with family and a nanny to ensure proper care for their child.

In addition to the restraining order, Bailey has requested that DDG be barred from speaking publicly about her or Halo on his platforms. She is also asking the court to mandate that he complete a 52-week Batterer Intervention Program and provide proof of completion.

While DDG has yet to issue a formal response to the allegations, a video has surfaced showing him appearing shocked as he learns of the restraining order in real time. The public reaction continues to unfold, with many expressing concern for Bailey’s safety and the wellbeing of their child.
