Snoop Dogg is closing out 2024 with a bang. The legendary rapper and entertainer is set to host NBC’s live New Year’s Eve special from Miami, promising a night full of music, energy, and signature West Coast charm.
The two-hour variety show will air live on December 31 from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET, marking another milestone in Snoop’s expanding collaboration with NBCUniversal. Over the past year, he’s become a familiar face on the network, from his appearances on The Voice to his much-talked-about commentary during the 2024 Summer Olympics.
“Snoop Dogg’s energy, influence, and ability to bring people together promises an unforgettable night,” said Jen Neal, EVP of Live Events and Specials at NBCUniversal. “We’re thrilled to partner with Snoop and bring this epic event to audiences across the country live from Miami.”
Produced by Den of Thieves the team behind major productions like the MTV VMAs and People’s Choice Awards—alongside Snoop’s Death Row Pictures, the show will feature live performances and surprise appearances that reflect the artist’s cross-generational appeal.
Though the full talent lineup is still under wraps, fans can expect a genre-blending celebration worthy of the Doggfather himself.
This announcement comes on the heels of another major project: the release of Snoop’s 21st studio album, Iz It a Crime?, dropping May 16. The album features collaborations with Sexxy Red, Wiz Khalifa, LaRussell, Charlie Bereal, Akeem Ali, and Jane Handcock.
It will also serve as the soundtrack for an upcoming short film of the same name, produced by Death Row Pictures.
With a new album, film, and now a national New Year’s Eve broadcast, 2024 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Snoop Dogg—cementing his legacy not only as a hip-hop icon, but as a multi-faceted cultural powerhouse.
