Young Thug used a live appearance on Adin Ross’ stream Monday night (Sept. 30) to share personal updates and deliver rapid-fire takes on hip-hop’s biggest names.
Addressing his relationship status, the So Much Fun rapper corrected Ross’ assumption that he “has a girl,” a reference to singer Mariah The Scientist. “I got broke up with,” Thug said, before adding, “But I still got a girl. She probably don’t got a boyfriend, but I got a girl.”
The pair’s on-off romance has been widely covered over the past two years; Mariah publicly supported Thug during his incarceration, but leaked jail calls—recorded prior to his arrest—later surfaced with him discussing infidelity. Thug apologized on “Man I Miss My Dogs” (Sept. 12, 2025), though the relationship appears to have ended.
When the host casually mentioned that Thug “has a girl,” referring to singer Mariah The Scientist, the rapper swiftly corrected him. “I got broke up with,” he said before clarifying, “But I still got a girl. She probably don’t got a boyfriend, but I got a girl.”
Thug also jumped into the perennial Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar debate. “I gotta say Drake,” he said. “He just did more… got more numbers. Numbers-wise, statistically, impact on the culture, impact on the world.” Still, he praised Kendrick Lamar as “for sure number one… out of L.A.—the GOAT of the whole West Coast,” while noting his personal West Coast pick is Nipsey Hussle.
On Atlanta’s rap Mount Rushmore, Thug quickly named Future, Playboi Carti, André 3000, and himself.
Musically, Thug spotlighted his new studio album UY SCUTI, his first full-length release since leaving jail on Oct. 31, 2024. The 20-track set features Travis Scott, Mariah The Scientist, T.I., Ken Carson, Sexyy Red, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Cardi B, and others. It follows BUSINESS IS BUSINESS (2023), dropped while the YSL figurehead faced RICO charges.
