Sherri Shepherd Honored With Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Sherri Shepherd received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Nov. 3, capping a three-decade career that spans daytime television, stand-up comedy, and film.

The ceremony, held outside the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard, recognized Shepherd in the Television category—reflecting a résumé that includes seven years co-hosting The View, three years on Dish Nation, and the launch of her syndicated daytime talker Sherri in 2023.

Accepting the honor, Shepherd credited the family, friends, and colleagues who sustained her through the industry’s highs and lows. “This is for anyone who ever believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself,” she said. “To my family, thank you for holding my hand on days I couldn’t lift my own.”

Shepherd has been candid about the persistence behind her on-air confidence. In a 2023 conversation at BLACK ENTERPRISE’s Women of Power Summit, she described confidence as something earned, not innate: “It’s the falls and it’s the getting back up.

It’s the ‘How many times can you get back up?’” Reflecting on timing, she added, “I think that God gave this to me at this age because I know who I am… You have to mature into the reality of that dream.”

From stand-up stages to network studios, Shepherd has maintained a steady presence as a performer, host, and author. With her star now set in terrazzo and brass, she joins a storied roster of entertainers whose work has shaped American popular culture—and offers fans a testament to perseverance and purpose.
