Coco Jones Set to Perform at College Football Playoff Championship

The stage is set for the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 20th, but it’s Coco Jones who’s grabbing headlines! The rising star will perform the national anthem before Ohio State battles it out with Notre Dame, ensuring all eyes are on her at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Jones won’t be alone in her pre-game spectacle; she’s teaming up with the celebrated Adam Blackstone, musician, composer, arranger, and music director, adding an extra layer of dazzle to the night.

But before Coco shows off her chops, a Joint Armed Forces Color Guard will honor the nation with flags representing the military branches, accompanied by a massive American flag unfolded by Atlanta’s own volunteers.

The Spelman College Glee Club, marking its 100th anniversary, will deliver a soul-stirring rendition of “America the Beautiful,” warming the crowd for Jones’ star-spangled performance.

Adding to the inclusivity, Johrgia Peaches and Alexander Charlot, both talented students from the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, will perform “America the Beautiful” and “Star-Spangled Banner” in American Sign Language.

The excitement doesn’t end with the anthem. The marching bands from Ohio State and Notre Dame will take the field to amp up fans with performances before the game and at halftime.

And with the game falling on Martin Luther King Day, it’s only fitting that Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of the Civil Rights icon and CEO of The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, will do the honors of flipping the coin at kickoff.

As the clock ticks down to 7:45 p.m. ET for the game’s start, anticipation builds not just for the clash of college football titans but for a pregame show that promises to be both powerful and poignant.

Coco Jones, in her purple Lakers jersey, isn’t just ready to sing; she’s ready to shine, reflecting on the significance of her performance, “Sending all my love to LA,” she remarked, aware of the ongoing wildfires back home. “We hear about fires, but I didn’t know how devastating it could be. I hope everyone’s doing well.”

So, grab your popcorn and get ready for an electrifying night of football and heartfelt performances that honor both sport and community spirit!
