A New York judge has reportedly declared the end of Wendy Williams’ media career during a recent court hearing tied to her ongoing guardianship case. According to TMZ, sources claim Judge Lisa Sokoloff bluntly told the 60-year-old media icon, “It’s done,” in reference to her once-celebrated career in television and radio.
The reported remarks come amid mounting tensions between the court, Wendy Williams’ family, and her legal team. Judge Sokoloff allegedly accused Alex Finnie, Williams’ niece, of leaking confidential information to the press and warned of possible sanctions if it continued.
She also reportedly referred to members of Williams’ family as “no good,” a comment that left the talk show host emotionally shaken.
Regret Over Guardianship Decision
Williams has been under the court-appointed guardianship of Sabrina Morrissey since May 2022, following concerns over her health and financial well-being. Earlier this month, she expressed regret over agreeing to the legal arrangement in the first place.
Her healthcare advocate, Ginalisa Monterroso, explained that Williams believed the court would simply assign someone to manage her finances—not take over her life entirely.
“She thought, ‘The court will give me a money person, and I’ll be okay.’ She never expected to lose control over her entire life,” Monterroso said.
Wendy Williams Speaks Out
Last month, Williams made a rare public appearance on The View, where she addressed the state of her health and the guardianship ruling.
“I needed a breath of fresh air. I needed to see the doctor, so that’s why I went to the hospital,” she said. “How dare they say I have incapacitation. I do not!”
When asked about a possible return to television, the former daytime queen pushed back strongly.
“I’ve been doing important things all my life. These two people—they don’t look like me, they don’t talk like me, they don’t act like me. They will never be me,” she declared, referring to those currently in control of her affairs.
Legal Battle Heats Up
Williams has now secured high-profile attorney Joe Tacopina as part of her legal team, signaling a serious challenge to the guardianship arrangement that has governed her personal and financial life for nearly two years.
The saga marks a difficult chapter for the once-dominant talk show host, whose rise from radio to television fame made her a household name. Now, as legal tensions escalate and questions swirl about her health and autonomy, Wendy Williams is fighting to reclaim control of her life—and her legacy.
