Mopreme Shakur, Tupac Shakur’s stepbrother, recently appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he opened up about a conversation he had with music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs following Tupac’s murder.
In the interview, Mopreme confirmed that Diddy had reached out to deny any involvement in his brother’s death, which has remained one of hip-hop’s most notorious unsolved mysteries.
“[Diddy] basically said he had nothing to do with my brother’s murder,” Mopreme revealed. However, he expressed skepticism, telling Morgan, “The truth is still yet to come out, so we’re going to see.”
Nearly three decades after the fatal shooting, Mopreme acknowledged that lingering doubts remain. “There’s some doubt in that statement, along with all the other suspicions that people have,” he added, hinting at the unresolved questions surrounding Tupac’s death.
Diddy, who is currently facing a wave of sexual assault accusations, was implicated by Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a longtime suspect in Tupac’s murder, as being the person who ordered the hit. Despite these allegations, Diddy has consistently denied any involvement in the killing of the rap legend, a stance he’s maintained since the tragic event in 1996.
Mopreme Shakur’s family has now taken steps to seek clarity, launching a private investigation into Tupac’s murder. As reported by Billboard, the family has enlisted high-profile New York attorney Alex Spiro to explore possible connections between Tupac’s death and Diddy.
While the truth remains elusive, Mopreme expressed his own doubts about Diddy’s innocence. “My opinion is that I don’t believe it was a hundred percent honest statement,” he said, suggesting that Diddy may not have been fully forthcoming.
When asked directly by Morgan if Diddy had lied, Mopreme responded, “Quite possibly. It’s kind of looking that way, in my opinion.”
Tupac Shakur was shot in a drive-by in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, while attending a Mike Tyson boxing match. After fighting for his life in the hospital for six days, the influential and controversial rapper succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a legacy that continues to spark debate and investigation.
The conversation between Mopreme Shakur and Diddy, as revealed on Piers Morgan Uncensored, has reignited discussions around Tupac’s death, adding yet another layer to a story that has captivated the public for nearly 30 years.
