Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan is using his platform to make a tangible impact on American families struggling with food insecurity.

While promoting his upcoming Paramount+ sitcom Crutch, the Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum opened up about his latest philanthropic effort, one that fed nearly 20,000 households.

Morgan partnered with the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation to donate more than $200,000 in support of families in need.

“I fed 19,000 families,” Morgan told People. “It’s fun to get the love and support, but it’s better when you give it back.”For Morgan, giving back isn’t just charity—it’s a lesson he hopes to pass on to his four children.

He says he wants them to value compassion above all else. “More than a great education, I just want [Maven] and her brothers to be empathic,” he said. The actor’s dedication to service is deeply personal.

In 2014, Morgan survived a devastating car crash that left him in critical condition and killed his friend James McNair.

The accident led to a confidential settlement with Walmart, reported at nearly $90 million. Since then, Morgan has frequently spoken about how the experience reshaped his priorities. His health has been in the spotlight again in recent months.

In March, he was escorted out of a New York Knicks game after falling ill on the court, later revealing he had suffered from food poisoning. Now focused on wellness, Morgan says he walks 2.5 miles a day, trains regularly with a personal trainer, and has switched from Ozempic to Mounjaro.

“I’m just trying to live good,” he said. “I’m not worried about how I’m going to die. I’m just trying to worry about how I live.”Family, he insists, is at the center of everything.

Morgan is a father to Gitried, 39; Malcolm, 38; Tracy Jr., 34; and Maven, 12.“I don’t care about nothing else in this world,” he added.
