Beyoncé has announced a delay in her anticipated January 14th announcement following the devastating impact of the Los Angeles wildfires. The global superstar, who resides in Los Angeles, expressed her concerns and support via social media, highlighting the ongoing efforts of first responders in the region.
“We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community,” Beyoncé stated.
She shared these sentiments after teasing fans with potential news during her NFL Christmas Day Halftime show, which aired on Netflix. Fans have been speculating that the announcement could range from a new tour to another Netflix special or even something related to her ongoing music project, Act III.
In the meantime, her charitable organization, BeyGOOD, has actively responded to the crisis by launching a fire relief fund and donating $2.5 million to assist families who have lost their homes to the fires.
The fires have been particularly personal for Beyoncé, as they have also impacted her own family. Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, shared that she lost her Malibu home in the Pacific Palisades wildfire, a place she described as her sanctuary and “sacred Happy Place.”
As the Santa Ana winds continue to pose a threat, further fueling the wildfires, Tina Knowles has joined her daughter in using their platforms to raise awareness and share resources for those affected.
While Beyoncé did not provide a new date for her planned announcement, she encouraged her followers who wish to help to support the efforts of BeyGOOD through their social media channels.
