Kendrick Lamar Dominates 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards with Eight Wins

Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar swept the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards, claiming eight trophies, including some of the most coveted categories. Lamar took home awards for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for his hit ‘Not Like Us,’ and Lyricist of the Year.

His collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin on ‘Like That’ earned him two more awards: Best Collaboration and Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse. The night solidified Lamar’s reign in hip-hop, further elevating his already legendary status.

However, the ceremony wasn’t without surprises. Nigerian stars Burna Boy and Odumodublvck, both considered strong contenders, left empty-handed. Burna Boy, nominated for Best Live Performer, was up against heavyweights like Kendrick, Cardi B, and Travis Scott. Odumodublvck was in the running for Best International Flow but did not secure the win.

The event, held on Tuesday night, was hosted by Fat Joe for the third consecutive year, also serving as a co-executive producer. The show celebrated hip-hop’s biggest names, with Megan Thee Stallion leading the nominations, followed closely by Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Among other highlights, Missy Elliott took home Best Live Performer, while Nicki Minaj won Hip-Hop Album of the Year for Pink Friday 2. The night showcased the best in the business, and Kendrick Lamar emerged as the undeniable star.
