Marlon Wayans Faces Backlash for LGBTQ+ Support, Fires Back at Critics

Marlon Wayans has taken a firm stand against critics following backlash over his recent support for the LGBTQ+ community. The 51-year-old actor and screenwriter posted several photos on Instagram from an LGBTQ+-themed photoshoot on June 14, underscoring his unwavering support for the community and his transgender son.
Marlon Wayans shared four posts, starting with a photo of himself wearing a cap adorned with a rainbow and draped in a rainbow flag. He captioned it, “Happy PRIDE to all my LGBTQ+ peoples,” clarifying that although he is straight, he is proud to show love and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Negative comments quickly followed, with one user, @mossimock, posting, “Lmao unfollow.” In a subsequent post, Wayans responded to the negativity with a photo of himself surrounded by rainbow-coloured balls, writing, “Yeah and just for THE HATE MONGERS….I’m posting another.” He emphasized his stance, saying, “As a father of a child in the LGBTQ+ community I show my support. Zero f**** what people think.”
Wayans did not shy away from addressing those who threatened to unfollow him, stating, “If I lost you… GOOD. Your hateful a*** never loved me in the first place. How can you love anyone when you’re too busy judging. Some of y’all funny. I’m a troll. I’ll post all day.” He concluded his message with, “HAPPY PRIDE to all my friends, fam, fans and loved ones. I am happy you’re happy… period.”
In a November 2023 interview on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Marlon Wayans opened up about his oldest child’s transition from female to male. “I have a daughter that transitioned into a son. My daughter Amai is now Kai,” he said. Wayans shared his journey as a parent, evolving from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance.
