50 Cent Nearly Missed Out on 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show

In a detailed interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, talked about his career, ongoing disagreements with other rappers, and how he almost missed performing at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. This show featured artists like Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Snoop Dogg, all produced by Dr. Dre.

50 Cent revealed that he was nearly left out of the show. “They wanted to leave me out of it. They didn’t want me there,” he said, indicating that ROC Nation, managed by Jay-Z, was responsible for initially excluding him.

“They wanted to leave me out of it. They didn’t want me there,” the producer told The Hollywood Reporter.

However, Eminem insisted on his participation. “Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it,” Jackson explained.

“Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it,” Jackson told the publication.

“When that happens, you go, ‘Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.’ But if it was up to them, they would not have me there. I’m the surprise. I’m not on the bill at all. But they couldn’t get Em to do it without me.”

He also commented on the Grammys, specifically mentioning Beyoncé’s many awards. “I don’t know who’s voting in that stuff. It’s crazy. Whoever they are, they’re off at Beyoncé’s house because she has 30 of them,” he said.

Jackson also discussed his difficult relationship with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, mentioning he avoids events associated with him due to “uncomfortable energy.” He is currently working on a Netflix documentary titled “Diddy Do It,” which will look into Diddy’s controversies. The release date for this series has not been set yet.

Neither Jay-Z nor Beyoncé has commented on Jackson’s remarks.
